THE LANDMAN FAMILY

Why did you create the Myositis Empower Walk?

The Landman’s shared, “We started the Myositis Empower Walk to inspire people to support MSU’s mission and to create a safe space for patients and caregivers alike. Our goal is to raise funds to continue to provide emotional and financial support for patients and to support research to better understand myositis, find treatments, and one day a cure.”

Rock Painting

Leading up to the Myositis Empower Walk on October 2nd, we will be painting rocks to raise awareness for MSU and our Myositis Warriors. This activity will be available for our in-person attendees but we want our virtual attendees to join us in showing your creativity too! Simply find a larger rock that you can easily paint on and then decorate it any way you’d like.

Once the rock is decorated and dried, leave it somewhere where it can be found such as a park, walking trail, etc. Don’t forget to add our website (myositisempowerwalk.org) or Instagram handle (@myositisempower) on the rock somewhere so that whoever finds it can learn more about myositis and the Myositis Empower Walk! Use your creativity when creating the rocks but if you are needing some inspiration, see some examples above!

Share your painted rocks on social media with the hashtag #MyositisEmpowerWalk.

AN INTIMATE DISCUSSION

LIVE with the Landman’s

We invited Lauren and Jenna Landman, creators of the Myositis Empower Walk, to join us for an intimate discussion about their dad’s journey, and his subsequent death shortly after being diagnosed with the rare disease dermatomyositis. We talk about their healing through finding Myositis Support and Understanding (MSU) and in creating the Myositis Empower Walk in loving memory of Robert “Bob” Landman. Watch and learn more about this loving, compassionate family and the amazing work they are doing!

SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

“The Myositis Empower Walk is about community-building – in person or via interactive live stream – to have fun and get moving while we work together to raise money to continue on our mission to improve the lives of and empower those fighting myositis. It’s beautiful, all in loving memory of Bob Landman.”
